Won't you please tell us something about yourself?
40-year old
misfit with a loving family who doesn't understand my obsession with
capping but supports it, anyway. Oh yeah--I play some guitar and I also
obsess with old heavy metal bands (like Judas Priest, Scorps, Deep
Purple, Rainbow, etc.)
Any significance to your capping handle?
Well,
there's this road off I-15 on the way to Las Vegas called
Zzyzyx....'Zyzyk' was easier to spell. Also, I couldn't spell
'Myxlpyzkx' or whatever the hell that enemy guy of Superman's name is.
Always thought he was cool, tho...I remember (when I was 8 or so) I was
amused at how easy it was to defeat him (all you had to do was say his
name backwards). I've tried to use that on some of MY enemies since,
but it doesn't seem to work.
How did you discover Caption This! and/or Inventing Situations?
Surfed
in one day about 2 yrs ago, while watching MST3K (the greatest show off
Earth!) Had to wait until DSL was available in my area to REALLY enjoy
it, tho. GersonK turned me on to Inventing Situations a few months ago.
When do you usually cap?
Whenever
I should be doing other stuff...procrastination is a hobby of mine that
I have worked up to a rare art form. I can sometimes squeeze in an hour
at work, but mostly from 6-7 pm PST and then from 9-11 PST (after the
kids go to bed & I have a minute to myself).
Favorite sites on the internet (Other than CT/IS)?
www.punchbaby.com has some REALLY wacky $#!T. I also like tshirthell.com. And it's not my FAVORITE, but you can see my work site at www.venturacollege.edu - I work at Ventura College.
Favorite movie(s)/television show(s)?
Movies
- AC/DC made a tour movie I REALLY like, ANYTHING by Monty Python, Army
of Darkness, the usual run of action movies, like the Indiana Jones
series, the Star Wars series. TV shows - besides MST3K, The History
Channel, The Learning Channel, and Discovery's Civilization Channel, I
like Jerry Springer, The Anna Nicole Smith Show, and of course STAR
TREK!!! Basically I like programs that make me feel superior to people
who abase themselves to be on TV. That means the Howard Stern Show, too.
If time and/or money weren't an object, what one thing would you do?
Go
back to 1975 and not get caught sneaking out of the house to go to Led
Zeppelin at Madison Square Gardens, and then fast forward to 1980 and
see Black Sabbath at the Ventura Fairgrounds (parents busted me both
times, got grounded a month, lost out on $15 bucks per ticket...it was
HARD earned $$$ , too. I had to sell a lot of dope to earn it, cause I
smoked so much in those days.)
Any words of advice you'd like to pass along?
My
favorite joke is, What did the guru say to the hot dog vendor? Make me
one with everything. Remember, kids, if love hurts, you're probably
doing it wrong.
